Luke 24:13-32
This is Jesus heartburn(I have to credit Dallas Willard for this term!)...31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

Joy and Sorrow

I am in the midst of my final days as a children's pastor at Crossroads and it is very bitter sweet. I am very conscious of how easy it would be to just dwell completely in one or the other....the sadness of moving in this new direction or the excitement of this amazing opportunity. I'm finding that in the midst it's hard to feel both at one time! Today I've gone from tears of sorrow to tears of joy in the space of moments and it's been good. I appreciate your prayers as I make this crazy transition from one group of precious children to another; from what is known and has become comfortable to what is completely different and a bit crazy!
I am anticipating the way God will move in and through me in Sierra Leone but I am scared silly too! Of snakes and weird food and feeling alone and inadequate. But I know that my life is in God's hands, I put it there a long time ago and I am not taking it back. So when June 4th rolls around and the plane takes off (YICKES!) I will miss what is now...the friends, family, tears, laughter, and lives that intersect with mine everyday but I will take my Jesus with me.
Until next time...
C
